My paintings are inspired by the people and places in the great city of Columbus, Ohio – I enjoy painting places I know. This painting of the Short North captures the energy of our arts district and the melancholic beauty of an urban landscape.

For me painting is a cathartic process – I started painting as a past time when I was a kid. When the world seems to be moving too fast, painting is a familiar space and practice that I can come back to when I need grounding.
