My work is directly influenced by the landscape of the city in which I currently reside – Columbus, Ohio. Working from my own original photographs, I recreate the mood and atmosphere of a location with an expressive color palette and dramatic composition. I am particularly interested in capturing light, temperature and reflection. My process begins with photographing areas of town that are intriguing and visually compelling. I look for scenes that expose something about the city – be it a bucolic midwestern side street or a more dramatic urban street/skyline. These places form the ever-changing urban landscape where I live and I enjoy capturing and documenting them. Put simply, I like to paint places I know. I have been a member artist with Studios on High Gallery in the Short North Arts District since 2016. Studios on High Gallery is the oldest artist owned and operated collective in the Short North.
