Wanna Play Fetch?! | Acrylic Paint on Canvas, 2024

Our family’s beloved yellow lab, Lucy, loves to play fetch. Through the years, our three young kids and her have had endless slobbery exchanges of her favorite ball. As she nears her 13th year, these exchanges are becoming less frequent as her arthritis has slowed her down. I was inspired to paint this picture so my husband and I can forever remember the sounds of our young children’s endless giggles and Lucy’s endless panting during these games of fetch. I want us to always remember their faces of pure joy as they all race back and forth, barefoot, through our backyard grass in these fleeting memories with our first family dog.
