My Garden | Charcoal and Pencil, 2025

I created this piece to represent the idea of taking care for our bodies as if they were gardens, which is why flowers bloom from the ribcage. The intersection of nature and our health is something that I’ve always found deeply holistic, as they both intertwine in so many ways across so many different groups of individuals. Growing up in a culture where the tie between nature and health was incredibly prominent, I wanted to reflect that influence in my work. I wanted this piece to show how grateful we should be to have our bodies—something that should be cherished and tended to with the same care that a gardener gives to their flowers.
